Did you know that French Immersion began in Montreal’s South Shore 50 years ago? Three anglophone mothers, Murielle Parkes, Olga Melikoff and Valerie Neale, wanted their children to learn French within the school system and with much perseverance and dedication, they brought about a program that has benefited millions of school children in Canada.
